  14. 1 IM will now prompt for a disk letter when "scan multiple diskettes"
  15.   (/VM) is selected but the current disk is a hard disk.  The prompt can
  16.   be eliminated by using the /D or /P command line options.

  18. 2 When checking the partition sector, if you set halt to emergencies
  19.   only (/NE or /ND), IM will bypass the prompt for the disk to check.

  21. 3 New program (Delfiles.exe) included with (registered version of IM only)

  55. 1 IM and SetupIM have support for the new FAT32 volumes available in Win95
  56.   OEM service release 2.
  57.  
  58. 2 SetupIM has improved disk recognition capabilities this additionally
  59.   allows allows SetupIM to recognize Win95 system sectors correctly without
  60.   booting to native DOS.
  61.  
  62. 3 SetupIM differentiates IBM PC DOS 7 from MS DOS 7 (AKA Win 95) when
  63.   it determines optimal system settings.

  65. 4 IM will set the attribute of any integrity data files created in
  66.   the XLSTART subdirectory to hidden. This prevents MS Excel from
  67.   trying to load these files as spread sheets.

  69. 5 IM will check for Excel related files (for macro viruses)
  70.   independent of the file's extension (or only *.XL?) files depending
  71.   upon install options. This option can be changed using the SetupIM
  72.   advanced option menu.

  74. 6 Archive bits now set correctly for hidden integrity data files.

  76. 7 IM's documentation files have all been changed to .TXT extensions to
  77.   avoid confusion with MS Word's convention of using .DOC extensions.

  79. 8 If no other command line commands (/Cx or /IX) are present, the /CC or
  80.   /IC (check or initialize CMOS) commands will cause IM to execute and
  81.   quit rather than enter menu mode.
  82.  
  83. 9 IM's advice relative to resident memory changes (e.g. /CM) has been
  84.   improved. This includes recognition of when the PC has been booted from
  85.   a floppy.
  86.  
  87. 10 The "Check" "Partition sector" and "Initialize" "Partition sector"
  88.    commands now offer the option of checking other than just the
  89.    current disk.  This is intended for situations where the current
  90.    disk is inaccessible by the operating system.  (The reload menu
  91.    has always had this capability.)

  95. 1) Integrity Master can now detect unknown viruses in memory with its
  96.    "Resident program and memory" configuration check.  This allows you
  97.    to detect the presence of unknown viruses without booting from a
  98.    floppy and also provides you a warning if the low-level configuration
  99.    of your PC has changed.  This check is done automatically by
  100.    the "Entire disk integrity" option on the check menu or directly by
  101.    the "/CM" command line switch or the "Resident programs and memory"
  102.    option on the "Check" menu.
  103.  
  104. 2)  IM offers several new command line options:
  105.  
  106. "/CM"    Check resident programs and memory (allows detection of unknown
  107.          memory resident viruses.  This is equivalent to the "Resident
  108.          programs and Memory" option on the check menu.
  109.  
  110. "/IM"    Record (initialize) data describing resident programs and memory
  111.  
  112. "/MF=xxxx.SRL"  Specifies the file used by check "Resident programs
  113.                 and memory" command.
  114.  
  115. "/MS#"   You can use the command line /MS# option (or SetupIM) to
  116.          vary the sensitivity of IM to resident program configuration
  117.          changes.  The sensitivity can be set from 0 to 9. 0 turns
  118.          the check off, and 9 provides maximum sensitivity to
  119.          changes.  /MS4 is the default (and recommended) setting. /MS9 is
  120.          useful for for researchers and on systems where there should
  121.          be no software changes at all.

  123. 3) IM identifies over 700 new viruses by name and characteristic

  167.    when IM has no reload data.  This code is compatible with DOS 2.1 or
  168.    later, OS/2, Win 95, Win NT and other operating systems.

  171.    there is a new associated command line switch: "/RF". This will check
  172.    the disk parameters and replace the executable code in the boot
  173.    sector with a clean self-checking program and can correct the disk
  174.    parameters (diskette type, size, # of tracks, etc.) if needed. This
  175.    can be used to remove boot sector viruses from floppy diskettes when
  176.    IM has no reload data.
  177.  
  178. 6) The option "Ignore Time/date changes ──────> on/OFF" is now set to
  179.    "on" in most cases and its function has been improved. IM will now
  180.    check for date or time changes even if this options is set to "ON"
  181.    but it will not display the change if the only change to the file
  182.    is its date or time stamp.

  184. 7) The Windows configuration is corrected for Win 95 (in some cases the
  185.    IM Windows setup program (IMWIN.EXE) would install the wrong command
  186.    line switches.)

  188. 8) IM now displays (and writes to the report file) when integrity data

  190.    unattended checking.

  317.    viruses.  This is available through the Check menu as well as the
  318.    "/VB" command line switch.  This also allows IM to read boot sectors
  319.    on diskettes that are unreadable to DOS.  Researchers can use this
  320.    option when testing IM since IM will also check the boot sector for
  321.    partition sector (MBR) viruses.

  323. 2) New "Force update" option on the "Integrity update" options submenu.
  324.    Selecting this option or using the new "/UA" command line switch will
  325.    force integrity master to update integrity data for all files.  Normally

  419. 1) Since many people are unaware that IM can be used as a simple virus
  420.    scanner, IM will now offer the choice of scanning or initializing
  421.    when it encounters a directory that it hasn't seen before.  This menu
  422.    can be easily disabled.

  424. 2) IM will now offer several options if it encounters a corrupted file
  425.    (unless you have already told it what to do using the "Integrity Update"
  426.    submenu). This allows you to easily verify that corrupted files have
  427.    been correctly fixed.
